Development projects need to assess the outcome and impact of their interventions at different stages of their implementation and also at the end. It helps the implementers to keep the project on track and at times review objectives and adjust assumptions. The task consists of careful design, systematic data collection both from primary and secondary sources, study project implementation processes, analyze Log-frame, estimate value of the indicator variables, compare results with baseline or similar other sources and recommend actions for the concerned authorities. Often such researches involve collection of data using qualitative methods such as In-depth interviews (IDI), Key Informant Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA), Social Mapping, Observation, Case Studies etc.

PCSL has conducted large number of assessment/ evaluative research for projects funded/implemented by GoB, UN agencies, World Bank, and other national and international NGOs. At times we used collaboration of reputed institutions or external agencies in doing quality work. Besides using its in-house expertise, we hire services from pool of experts as per the need. The reports compiled for such researches are often published by the sponsors as per the property rights.
